My name is Hans Vlug owner/operator of Bolair and Zederkamm Kennels.

I have been breeding GSD since 1984. I first got involved with police dog training and Schutzhund was in 1987. I started training CKC Obedience but I found that I was not challenged enough. So I refocused and directed my attention toward the sport of Schutzhund and never deviated from that work. I was hooked! I trained a female from 8 weeks old pup to level  BH ScH 3. Her name was Peoria vom Birkland. I then trained a dog of my own breeding  from 8 weeks to level BH AD ScH3 and IPO3.  His name was Dargo vom Bolair. Since Dargo was titled I started with another one of my pups from 8 weeks old.  His name was Jago vom Zederkamm.  I titled Jago to Hiking BH AD ScH1 and almost got ScH 2. I then bought a female from Holland her name Zita vom Breustedterhof. Again I started at 8 weeks old got her BH and AD. I also trained another Hanna vom Zederkamm titling her with AD.Nora vom Emmanuel received her BH in 2015 .Quido vom Emmanuel received his BH in 2016. I am the President of the Peterborough Schutzhund Club. The inception of the Peterborough Schutzhund Club started in 2000.

German Shepherds

My favorite breed is German Shepherd Dog, overall the best working dog for the IPO Sport. We are a member of the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada and a member of the Ontario Region

All are Welcomed

We welcome all dog/handler teams as long as they want to learn and are committed and have a dog with correct temperament. The most common breeds are German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Boxers, Rotweilers, Dobermans, Bouvier des Flandres but not limited to.

Keep them healthy

I like to see people work their dogs at least 4 times a week with high intensity. I only let the dog work with the handler.  Ideally the dogs should consume a high quality kibble like Orijen and Acana. Ideally a raw diet would be ideal.

Message From the President

I chose this sport because I found it exciting and the time I was a breeder of  German Shepherds and this way I could see what my dogs were made of.
